It has been FOREVER since I posted here. I have not forgotten about my organization plans. 2014 was a very strange year, where a lot of unexpected things happened. But life is like that. We have to be flexible, and rearrange our schedule in order to acommodate new priorities.

My dad was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the begining of the year. He was treated out of town, and so I had to travel almost every weekend to help him and care for him from May to October. To make a LONG story short, my plans were delayed. My priorities changed. I did do some organization when I was home, but not as much as I wanted to. It turns out I also need to rest. It would have been easier if I could just keep going.

So let's check and see where I am on my list: I did re-organize my laundry room! Added a tall shelf unit and cubbies. The new unit is now where I keep the cleaning supplies that used to be in the pantry, and also dirty laundry sorting baskets. No more baskets on the floor. YAY! The cubbies keep all my laundry products, and prevents anything from falling behind the washer and dryer. I am in love with the new set up!

The pantry is still a work in progress. I have not given up on it.

Master bedroom: I organized my makeup desk acouple of times and added more storage for my ever expanding collection. I know. Pictures are in order. Will post pictures of the new set up soon. I have started the bathroom and closet organizatin about 2 or 3 times. Made progress, but did not finish yet.

Game room: I startarted organizing it, but have not finished. The kids now have clean desks to work in there. So that's progress.

Weight loss: with all the traveling back and forth, and stress, I gained an absurd amount of weight. BUT, thankfully, I returned to my healthy eating and I am proud to say I lost over 20 lbs since the begining of October.

My lessons for 2014: Family is more important than anything, and if life needs to be a little messy while we need to be away to be with each other, it is totally worth it. Even if the pile of laundry is reaching the ceiling.

My goals for 2015: Continue to get organized as much as I can, while prioritizing family. I will still be traveling quite a bit to see my dad. And that is a good thing. I am glad I can be there for him.

I am very thankful for my husband, his support and love. I would have not been able to do all that I did this year without him. I am thankful that my dad beat cancer, and hope his recovery from chemo and radiation doesn't take too long.

Plans for the site: I have lots of things planned! Lots of people have been asking me to start a beauty blog, both in English and in Portuguese. So I think I will give it a try. Why not!

So, I wish you all a wonderful and healthy 2015!
